How Do I Use Snap Happy?

Snap Happy is easy to use and understand. The application takes pictures based on a timer setting. After the specified time has elapsed, a countdown voice counts "3-2-1", and then a funny sound is played to produce a candid, unrehearsed reaction from the picture recipient.

Taking Pictures

To take a picture, just click the Camera button.

After the Camera button is clicked, there are four things that occur:

1. The timer elapses for the specified period of time, optionally playing a 'tick' sound for each second elapsed. If the timer is set to the minimum value, the timer is skipped.
2. A countdown voice counts "3-2-1". Most sounds supplied have the counting spaced at one second intervals, but this might be longer or shorter for comedic effect.
3. A final funny sound is played.
4. The picture is captured by the camera.

If 'Show Image Preview' is enabled in the settings, you can preview the picture and optionally save or discard it. Images are saved to your camera roll, along with your other pictures. If preview is not enabled, the image is automatically saved to your camera roll.

Settings

Timer

The timer setting is based on the total time it takes for the 'final sound' to start playing. For example, if the timer is set to 5 seconds, the timer will elapse 2 seconds, and the 'countdown voice' will take 3 seconds, thus totalling 5 seconds.

To change the timer settings, on the main screen adjust the timer slider to the desired value.

Countdown Voice

The 'Countdown Voice' is the sound played just before the final funny sound is played. It is the "3-2-1" to prepare you for the actual picture-taking.

To change the countdown voice, on the main screen click the settings button. On the 'Settings' screen, select 'Countdown Voice'. Choose your preferred setting, or select 'Random' for a surprise voice each time. Click 'Done' when finished.

Final Sound

The 'Final Sound' is what's played just before the camera snaps the picture. It's the final funny sound to make you laugh.

To change the final sound, on the main screen click the settings button. On the 'Settings' screen, select 'Final Sound'. Choose your preferred setting, or select 'Random' to play a surprise sound for each picture taken. Click 'Done' when finished.

Play Timer Tick

The 'Timer Tick' is the sound played while the timer elapses. This setting only affects whether or not a 'tick' sound is played; it does not affect the elapsed amount of time.

To toggle this option on or off, on the main screen click the settings button. On the 'Settings' screen, next to 'Play Timer Tick' select 'ON' or 'OFF'. Click 'Done' when finished.

Show Image Preview

The 'Image Preview' setting determines whether or not you are showed a preview of the picture you just took before it is saved to your camera roll. If this setting is enabled, you can preview the image and optionally save or discard it. If this setting is disabled, the picture is automatically saved to your camera roll.

To toggle this option on or off, on the main screen click the settings button. On the 'Settings' screen, next to 'Image Preview' select 'ON' or 'OFF'. Click 'Done' when finished.
